Georgia Sparks
Georgia Sparks of Funke Studios is a self taught Melbourne based artist and fashion designer. Her works feel like a personal diary, expressing moments of reflection and vulnerability- she seeks to find the whimsy and folklore in everyday life.
Sustainability is front of mine in her work as she explores taking what could be discarded and turning it into one of a kind pieces of art. Seeing how much potential there is in the textiles that already exist, Georgia’s aim when creating art and fashion is to reveal something unexpected from something ordinary.
Georgia Sparks recently completed her first artist residency at Shop Gal by Tara Whalley, in Fitzroy, Melbourne during 2026. Here she created the series "Lacette". Eight textile artworks created using thrifted linens, fabric paint, and secondhand lace and trims.

"Her work feels like a personal diary, you see her moments of reflection and what she notices in her universe from beautiful architecture in Melbourne to forgotten lace trim.
Georgia finds the folklore amongst everyday moments."
